A small plane crashed into a home in northern Arizona Sunday morning.
The Verde Valley Fire District responded after 9:45 a.m. local time to the crash in Cottonwood − approximately 50 miles south of Flagstaff − that left residents unharmed but required the pilot to be airlifted to a Phoenix area hospital, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.
The pilot was the only person in the plane when it crashed.
The plane damaged a detached carport on the property, leaving the main house unscathed.
The FAA will investigate the cause of the crash, according to the Sherrif's Office.
