Mel Gibson had two very special guests during his latest appearance.
The actor hit the red carpet for the Sept. 24 premiere of his latest film, Monster Summer at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles—and his two youngest children Lucia, 14, and Lars, 7, were along for the occasion.
For the outing, Mel, 68, wore a relaxed blue blazer with subtle white pinstripes and dark blue jeans. Lucia looked stunning in a red strapless dress and gold clutch. Little Lars was just as cool as his father in a white shirt with black slacks. Making him even more adorable, Mel’s youngest child’s long blond tresses swept over his eyes.
Lucia is Mel’s daughter with his ex, Oksana Grioriera. The Braveheart star shares Lars with his current partner, Rosalind Ross. In addition to his youngest two, the Braveheart star is father of seven other children with ex-wife Robyn Moore: Hannah, 43, Christian, 42, Edward, 42, William, 38, Louie, 35, Milo, 33, and Thomas, 25.
Mel was all smiles as he walked the carpet and posed for pictures alongside his castmates, David Henrie—who also directed the film—Noah Cottrell, Abby James Witherspoon, Lilah Pate, Julian Lerner and Mason Thames. The film—which also stars Kevin James and Lorainne Bracco—is about a group of friends who team up with a sheriff (Mel) and investigate the terror that has unleashed in their town and interrupted their summer plans.
The movie premiere was Mel’s second public outing in recent months—in August he celebrated his longtime friend Vince Vaughn as the Wedding Crashers star received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame—as he’s generally stepped back from the spotlight amid decades of controversies. This includes in 2020 when Winona Ryder accused him of making homophobic and antisemitic comments at her and a friend in the ‘90s, an incident he vehemently denied.
"This is 100 percent untrue," his rep told E! News in 2020. "She lied about it over a decade ago, when she talked to the press, and she's lying about it now."
